::EDIT 2::
A fellow brony tackled this question and expressed my point of view better than I could ever do it. Check it out! It's worth it!

::EDIT 1::
What i have learn so far from this conversation
- most individual who commented on this are well articulated and spoke of their personal experience in the fandom in general. You guys are awesome.
- This is a discussion and in no way shape or form should it imply that i am not concerned about worldly issues concerning women. This conversation will be for another time.
- seems somes fans of previous gens do the same thing about the latest gen.
- this kind of conversation happens in all fandom
::END EDIT 1::

This message is mostly for the fans of MLP. I would like to point out that this is only my opinion and I wanted to share it because I thought maybe starting a discussion would help me see more clearly on this matter.

Definition of discrimination: is the prejudicial or distinguishing treatment of an individual based on his or her membership - or perceived membership - in a certain group or category. It involves the group's initial reaction or interaction, influencing the individual's actual behavior towards the group or the group leader, restricting members of one group from opportunities or privileges that are available to another group, leading to the exclusion of the individual or entities based on logical or irrational decision making

This is my response to the whole "I love bronies" tshirt that came out in Walmarts featuring ponies from G1. [link] From what I could see, there are people that were offended that they portrayed G1 instead of G4. Some have said it was a misinterpretation of bronies. May I point out that it seems that this shirt was for girls? What? WHy would the guys care what's on my shirt?

Most of you will agree that the past generations of MLP have been targeted mainly at woman. And that most of the previous fanbase was female.
Now.... when G4 came around, it was with great joy that the fandom welcomed a large male audience. We rejoinced, had beer and all was well. But then shit happened. Some men claimed it as their own and totally kicked the female base out of the way, saying how amazingly MANLY G4 was and how the previous generations were "girly" (I like how "girly" has suddenly a negative tone to it)

What's with all this negativity towards previous Gens? And what's with putting the female fans on the side? Seriously, I am a person too and I would really much appreciate if people would stop imposing their views on me and other women like me.

That said, I would like to hear your opinion of this matter. I would also like to hear from the women that are fans of this show. What do you feel is your place in this fandom? What did you think of that shirt with Gen 1 ponies?

I love this so much. You are absolutely right. There is way too much old MLP hate in the Brony fandom. They're always all like, "OMG! MLP G1 SUCKS!" or "MLP G3 SUCKS!" and stuff like that. This is coming from the same people who draw fanart of the Breezies and Tirek, who, in the first and third generation, btw. Besides, if MLP G1 and MLP G3 didn't exist, chances are, we wouldn't have MLP G4. I'd think about that, if I were you.
