MLP FIM: Luna and Jack soaring - Revisited by hinoraito MLP FIM: Luna and Jack soaring - Revisited by hinoraito
Previous version:

Technique used: Lasso tool and soft airbrush. I selected each shape and airbrushed it to give it a clean edge and soft shading. Also added more black to give a more crisp contrast especially around the eyes.

Reworked it for my portfolio. This said, I have to make a crappy statement just so I avoid being floated with millions of notes and comments by my past commissioners:
- Do not request for your commission to be reworked. I worked at my best possible abilities at the time of the commission. This is done for presentation. Instead of dumping my previous version in archive and making everyone who faved it angry, I keep it so people can refer to these and learn techniques. Also see my evolution.
- No I am not entitled to give you a full resolution of the new file.
- Failure to acknowledge these guidelines/rules will only result in you being ignored. (I am dealing with an increasingly higher volume of notes/comments and I can't respond to all of them... so yeah... ignoring the unnecessary sorry D:)

Wow! That is an amazing improvement. This is the sort of style I would love to draw in... Any tips, or should I just practice?

uuuuum Well to finish off this picture I used the lasso tool to create clean edges. I shaded each shape as if it was a sphere or cylinders standing in the light source.

Also check your color choices. Try to change the color of your light source to create a warm or cold atmosphere. To do that you can check other people's artwork and see which color schemes they are using.

I hope that helps a little!

I love how the glow is just little beams of light now. Much more subtle! Everything overall just has a tighter technique to it, and it's still as soft as before. You have an amazing storybook quality to everything you create. I'm just loving seeing it all. You're a nice surprise in my inbox when you post. : )

Definite improvement! The lasso technique always seemed so finicky to me, but worked just fine here.
Incidentally, where's the glow around Jack?
